Course Topics

Lecturer

Alejandro Garcia Jr. (Alex) received a B.S. degree in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin and received his geological and geophysical training from Shell Oil Company.

Alex was an international exploration geophysicist for Shell Oil Co. for more than 30 years. He interpreted 2D and 3D projects and served in management and project leader roles in more than 30 countries. The last three years before retiring from Shell were spent teaching 3D Seismic Interpretation, Basic Geophysics, and Economics.

Alex joined Seismic Micro-Technology in 1999. As manager of the training department, he developed and taught KINGDOM Suite courses. In 2002 he left SMT to live in the Texas Hill Country, but continued training and coaching geoscientists on the SMT software. Alex is certified to teach all The KINGDOM Suite courses.

Overall, Alex has been presenting training sessions for geoscientists for more than 11 years, SMT courses for the last 8 years. He has presented SMT courses in 14 countries and has presented these courses in Spanish several times in Mexico, Argentina, and for representatives of the Nicaraguan National Oil Company.
